Insulated One Piece Water Tanks.
Break Tanks as the name implies puts a break in the water system from the mains,
Water Regulations State you are not allowed to fit any pump directly onto a mains supply.
​
The Break tank is usually fitted with an Inlet Ball Valve, Screened Overflow and an Outlet.
​
The Break Tank is also usually insulated to prevent freezing but also to help prevent the water warming up in warm rooms/locations.
​
As water above 20 Deg C can breed Legionella and other Bacteria
Break Tanks with Category 5 (CAT 5) Backflow Proteection with a Screened Spillover Weir providing a Type AB Airgap,
(AA Airgap equivalent)
Previously know as Type A Airgap
The Break Tank will usually have an Inlet Ball valve, Overflow, outlet and Spillover Weir,

The Spillover Weir is either in the wall of the tank
or in a Raised Ballvalve housing ontop of the tank, allowing more capacity by moving the inlet and airgap into the housing.
The Size of the Spillover Weir (Type AB Airgap) is based on the inlet size, as the weir needs to be able to allow as much water out of the tank as is coming into it.

The Spillover Weir should always be screened with 316 Stainless Steel Mesh.
Byelaw 30 has been superseeded with 'Water Fittings Regulations 1999' but it is still widely known as 'Byelaw 30'

Inlet Ball Valve
Screened Overflow
Outlet Connection
The Screened Overflow is twice the inlet size to meet the Water Regulation requirements.
These Break Tanks are available in One Piece GRP Break Tanks or Two Piece GRP Break Tanks in sizes from 45 Litres upto 60,000 Litres + in many standard sizes, and cost effective bespoke sizing.
